Bio

I am a Ph.D. student in Information Technology (Information Sciences and Technology) at George Mason University, advised by Dr. Lei Yang. I am currently working on AI for Science, with a focus on acoustic imaging applications in geoscience and healthcare.

Before joining GMU, I earned a B.S. in Computer Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (2022–2024) and a B.S. in Communication Engineering from Hangzhou Dianzi University (2018–2022).

Research Interests

My work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and scientific discovery. I develop computational methods that help scientists and practitioners better understand complex phenomena through acoustic imaging. Current areas include:

  • Deep learning for geophysical acoustic imaging
  • AI-driven medical acoustic imaging

Where I Come From

I grew up in Henan Province, China, a region often hailed as the birthplace of Chinese civilization and home to the legendary Shaolin Temple. Today, however, Henan is perhaps better known for its nearly 100 million residents navigating limited educational resources and narrow paths to upward mobility. There are countless places around the world that face similar challenges.

This background shapes much of what drives me. I want to do practical AI research that empowers different fields, and more importantly, to help more people learn, understand, and master computer science and AI. As AI lowers the barrier to knowledge and capability, the opportunity to learn and benefit should be open to all. I think of this as a kind of “AI equity”: ensuring that the transformative power of these technologies reaches everyone who is willing to learn.

Looking Ahead

Beyond my immediate research, I am drawn to two broader questions: how AI can be thoughtfully applied across more domains of science and daily life, and how we can help more people understand, use, and benefit from AI as it becomes a fundamental part of our world.

I believe we are heading toward a future where humans and AI work together in ways we are only beginning to imagine. My hope is that by building accessible tools and sharing ideas openly, I can play a small part in preparing for that future, one where technology frees people from tedious work and leaves more room for curiosity, creativity, and the simple joy of being alive.
